It will be in the recollection of most of those concerned that correspondence has been going on recently regarding mail business as at present conducted by the Chinese Imperial Post.

At the request of our Consul it is desired that all who may wish to establish a British Post Office similar to that of other nationalities in the port should sign their names below.

As this matter can only be proceeded with if a majority of British subjects in this place so desire, it is requested that ladies as well as gentlemen, who are in favour of this proposal sign their names in full,
